Kopi O Kosong is simple.
It's black coffee, no milk (that's what the "O" means), and no sugar ("kosong" is Malay for 'empty').
It's a simple no-nonsense cup of the good stuff.
About:
Passionate but pragmatic. I work at the intersection of technology, people, and organizations, and the complex dance between them.
I ran Google's product for Southeast Asia while it grew more than 100% year-on-year to hundreds of millions of users. I founded and led the international business unit at Indeed, the world's largest job site, building a 350-person organization and making Indeed the #1 source of candidates in Japan. Earlier, I shipped features used by anyone who touched Microsoft Windows over the past two decades. If it involved getting a hard product idea from a whiteboard to real users at scale, I've probably done a version of it.
I've since written a science fiction thriller about AI and neuroscience, and I care as much about how technology reaches people as about the technology itself.
I can make you successful with:
Product & R&D leadership. Taking an idea from inception through launch and into the iterate-for-results loop that actually moves metrics. Strategy, roadmap, execution, and the operating rhythm that ties them together.
Emerging-markets product. Deep experience serving consumers and SMBs across Southeast Asia, India, APAC, — where assumptions built for the US or Europe tend to break, and where market-specific product decisions decide who wins.
Scaling teams and organizations. Recruiting, structuring, and leading product, engineering, UX, and data-science teams. Building the culture and the platform mandates that let dozens of teams move in the same direction.
Applied ML and complex domains. Machine learning and heuristic models for recommendation, ranking, and quality; natural language processing and entity extraction; maps and local; marketplaces; online real estate; Q&A communities; interactive help.
Selected Experience

Indeed — Founded and led the International Business Unit; grew jobseeker traffic, revenue, and applications faster outside the US than within it; built the Tokyo tech office and a 350+ person organization spanning product, engineering, data science, and operations.
Google — Product strategy and launches for emerging-market users across Asia: Maps, local search, Q&A, SMB websites, Android One, and forms of payment.
Microsoft — Program manager for the Control Panel and Guided Help in Windows Vista.
Work With Me
Best fit for companies wrestling with hard product bets, entering unfamiliar markets, or scaling a product organization past the point where instinct alone carries it. Advisory engagements, fractional leadership, and hands-on project work all on the table.
